Pre-K For All Curriculum

Pre-K for All’s research-based Interdisciplinary Units of Study, created by the Division of Early Childhood Education (DECE) in collaboration with researchers, support student learning in all domains using developmentally appropriate practice. The interdisciplinary units, grounded in the Prekindergarten Foundation for the Common Core (PKFCC), follow the Scope and Sequence for the Units of Study.

Foundational Literacy Skills – Fundations – Click for Parent Resources

Wilson Fundations makes learning to read fun while laying the groundwork for life-long literacy. Students in grades K-3 receive a systematic program in critical foundational skills emphasizing: phonemic awareness, phonics/word study, high frequency word study, reading fluency, vocabulary, comprehension strategies, handwriting, and spelling. The instruction aligns with states’ rigorous college- and career-ready standards, including Common Core State Standards.

Mathematics– Parent Resources

New York State Engage NY Math Curriculum integrate the Common Core Learning Standards, rigorous classroom reasoning, extended classroom time devoted to practice and reflection through extensive problem sets, and high expectations for mastery.

Go Math! is a focused program designed to meet the objectives and intent of the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. Go Math! was specifically written to provide thorough coverage of the CCSS with an emphasis on depth of instruction. Lessons begin with context‐based situations and progress toward more abstract problems. Students and teachers are supported as they advance from concrete to abstract content through the use of models and math talk prompts. The program is designed so that teachers can easily create the environments necessary for teaching the Common Core Standards with depth

Reading & Writing – Teachers College Reading & Writing Project

The mission of the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project is to help young people become avid and skilled readers, writers, and inquirers. We accomplish this goal through research, curriculum development, and through working shoulder-to-shoulder with students, teachers, and school leaders.

Social Studies – Scope & Sequence

NYCDOE’s Passport to Social Studies curriculum was developed by a team of DOE staff and teachers, in collaboration with social scientists and cultural partners. The development was informed by and integrated with the following documents and perspectives: NYSED Frameworks for Social Studies, the NYC Social Studies Scope & Sequence, the Common Core Learning Standards in English Language Arts, and Understanding by Design.

Science, by Harcourt School Publishers was developed to help students meet high expectations in science achievement. All children investigate and learn science concepts while developing knowledge of and the ability to use the tools, skills, and methods of scientific inquiry.
